Dr. Elias Christofi grew up in Sydney, starting his journey in veterinary medicine at the age of 15 in his local veterinary practice. He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor’s degree in Political, Economic and Social Science (Honours) and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, seamlessly blending his passion for the well-being of both people and animals.

Dr. Christofi has a diverse employment background, which has been enriched by travel experience. Most recently, he worked in a mixed practice hospital in the Hawkesbury region. Prior to that, he spent six months living in Cairns, QLD, serving as a government veterinarian, primarily focusing on Brahman cattle and fish. For the 18 months leading up to that, he was a District Veterinarian in the Greater Sydney NSW office, where he engaged in numerous livestock and poultry disease investigations, including the response to the 2024 Avian Influenza outbreak in the Hawkesbury. Before this role, he contributed to national disease surveillance programs in Canberra, whilst working at Animal Health Australia.

While Elias has a deep affection for all animals, he has worked extensively with goats, sheep, chickens, and cats. He also has a fondness for sharks. At home, he shares his life with his 13-year-old cat, Figaro, and has recently rescued a ginger kitten named Luca, who was sadly abandoned in an industrial office kitchen.
